Samsung is rolling out One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices. The update brings new features for camera, communication, service, and privacy. After the new software was already available on several foldable smartphones, more models are now receiving the update. Samsung has not yet announced which devices will follow next.
Rollout Begins for the Galaxy S26 Series
One UI 9 is already available on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8, and the Galaxy Z Flip8. Since September 16, the distribution has also started for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, as Samsung announced on its mobile press portal.
More Galaxy devices are expected to follow. Which models will receive the update in the future and when the distribution will begin is unknown. According to Samsung, this marks the next phase of the One UI 9 rollout on Galaxy smartphones.
Videos, Chats, and Recommendations Get Smarter
New features include “My FanCam,” which tracks a selected person in a video and ensures they remain automatically centered. This is intended to simplify post-production of recordings. Samsung cites videos of celebrations or sporting events as possible use cases.
The daily overview “Now Brief” also receives new customization options. Users can decide which cards are displayed, including content from health, weather, or videos.
Additionally, “Now Nudge” is introduced. This feature recognizes the context of a chat and suggests appropriate actions. For example, it allows users to directly access reservation data or save shared locations.

Through the “Warranty and Care” section, users can check the warranty status of connected mobile devices. A self-diagnosis is also available there. Additionally, the feature shows estimated repair costs. Booking a service appointment is also possible.

Other well-known tools are also receiving improvements. The interpreter gets a new conversation view. The scanner is expected to better process curved book pages and bent corners. Furthermore, the voice recorder presents summaries more clearly.
Samsung Expands Privacy Features
One UI 9 also brings new security features. A security overview within “Now Brief” informs about malware, apps from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions. Furthermore, artificial intelligence on the device is supposed to detect potential privacy risks. Samsung cites apps that use permissions in the background as an example.
Which new features are actually available depends on several factors. Samsung mentions the country, language, and respective Galaxy model as factors.
As a result, not all features are automatically available on every device. For example, the new privacy warnings are only supported on selected Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy tablets.
