Vodafone Revamps Its Mobile Plans

Vodafone is revamping its mobile offerings. Starting July 16, 2026, the current GigaMobil plans will be renamed Vodafone Mobil. Along with the rebranding, the network provider is implementing further changes. These include adjustments to data volumes, an additional travel option for selected plans, and the discontinuation of a well-known feature. However, some services will remain unchanged.

More Data Volume Is Not Guaranteed in Every Plan

With the new Vodafone Mobil plans, the included data volume is changing. In several plan tiers, the monthly volume is increasing, but this does not apply to all offerings.

  • Vodafone Mobil XS: 15 GB instead of 7 GB
  • Vodafone Mobil S: 30 GB instead of 25 GB
  • Vodafone Mobil M: 60 GB instead of 50 GB
  • Vodafone Mobil L: 120 GB instead of 280 GB
  • Vodafone Mobil XL: still unlimited data volume

While XS, S, and M receive more data, the volume in the L plan is significantly reduced compared to before. Vodafone does not provide a reason for this in its press release.

Travel Option Becomes Part of Selected Plans

Also new is a travel option for the two most expensive plans. The already known “World Travel” option can now be added manually for free. It usually costs 4.99 euros per month. It includes 2 GB of data in more than 100 countries outside the European Union.

With the new plan portfolio, GigaDepot is disappearing. This feature allowed unused data to be carried over to the following month. This option will no longer be available. There are also changes to GigaKombi. Although the name is being dropped, the ability to combine internet, landline, and mobile offers remains, according to Vodafone.

These Services Remain Available

All Vodafone Mobil plans still include unlimited calls and texts to all German networks. Additionally, all plans support 5G with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

The 5-year promise also remains. Starting with the M plan, it includes a warranty extension and a free battery replacement at no extra cost. The XL plan still includes “OneNumber Flex,” allowing an additional SIM card to be used to be reachable on another device under the same phone number. This option usually costs 5.99 euros per month.

Overall, Changes Are Manageable

With Vodafone Mobil, the network provider is introducing a new name for its mobile plans and simultaneously adjusting the plan offerings. In addition to extra gigabytes in several plan tiers, the travel option in the higher-tier plans is a key new feature. At the same time, the previously available GigaDepot feature is being discontinued, while other services like 5G, the 5-year promise, and the ability to combine with landline offers remain.
