The Joyn offering is now part of 1&1 TV. Users can access the streaming platform directly through the TV service interface and start content without detours. In addition to the free offering, content from Joyn+, the streaming service’s paid premium package, is also included.
Streaming and Television Continue to Merge
Joyn combines classic live TV, media libraries, and on-demand content in a single application. The offering includes series, shows, and pay-TV content. Some formats are available to subscribers even before their regular TV broadcast. With the integration, the content will now appear directly on the homepage and in the search results of 1&1 TV.

Joyn is Already the Third Major Platform
With the integration of Joyn, 1&1 continues to expand its TV offering. The company had already integrated RTL+ and the ZDF stream directly into the user interface. Joyn is thus the third streaming platform to be deeply embedded into the system.
This move highlights a trend that has been emerging in the market for some time: providers are trying to bring together various streaming services and traditional TV offerings under one interface. For users, this means more clarity, as content from different platforms can be found in one central location. After a one-time login in the Joyn app, customers remain logged in and can start content directly.
More Than 170 Channels and Familiar Comfort Features
In addition to streaming offerings, 1&1 continues to focus heavily on traditional television. According to the company, the offering now includes more than 170 channels, over 150 of which are available in HD resolution. Features such as “Restart,” which allows ongoing programs to be started from the beginning, and a replay function for time-shifted television are also included.
Furthermore, content can be recorded and accessed on various devices. With the multi-stream function, 1&1 TV can be used on up to four devices simultaneously–such as on smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, or laptops. The provider also optionally offers its own TV box. The integration of Joyn primarily expands the number of directly available content and shows how much the lines between traditional television and streaming offerings are now blurring.
