Amazon is introducing a new feature for Fire TV to help users better recognize text and menus on their televisions. Many users are familiar with the issue of descriptions, settings, or menu entries appearing small on the TV screen.
With the new “Adaptive Display” feature, Amazon aims to make navigation more user-friendly. The innovation was already introduced in April 2026. According to the online magazine “Engadget,” the rollout to the first devices is now underway.
Not Just Larger Text
“Adaptive Display” works differently than a traditional magnification feature. Instead of simply enlarging all content, the function selectively adjusts individual elements. This includes font sizes, buttons, and other components of the Fire TV interface. At the same time, the system scales images, movie posters, and other graphic content accordingly. This ensures that menus remain clear and maintain a cohesive appearance even with larger displays.
Once “Adaptive Display” is available on a device, the feature can be activated in the settings. Users will find it under “Accessibility,” where several display sizes are available. This allows users to set how large text and control elements should appear on the television, adapting the display to their own needs.

The new feature is part of a broader expansion of accessibility on Fire TV. According to the company, Amazon has been working on related features for more than ten years.
Existing aids include tools that make dialogues more understandable, acoustically describe image content, or display text with higher contrast. “Adaptive Display” adds another option to make navigation easier for more people.

Initially Available on One Device Only
According to Engadget, “Adaptive Display” is initially available only on the current Fire TV Stick HD. The activation appears to be gradual, so the feature may not appear in the settings of all devices simultaneously. Users of this model may have to wait a bit longer for the innovation to become available.
It is currently unknown whether Amazon will extend the feature to other Fire TV devices in the future.
