The iPhone 15 is on the horizon, and Apple is tidying up its lineup. An older iPhone model is now completely disappearing from the store page.
Apple is preparing for the launch of the iPhone 15 and, in the process, is removing a four-year-old predecessor model from its lineup. Specifically, this is the iPhone 11 from 2019, which was available directly from Apple until recently.

Apple Stops Selling iPhone 11
When introducing a new iPhone, Apple typically keeps previous models in the lineup and reduces their prices to offer more affordable alternatives. The Apple Store features the three latest iPhone generations–plus the iPhone SE. The iPhone 11 has not been available as new since the launch of the iPhone 14 last year, as the current generations are: 14, 13, and 12. The models Apple offers on its site are all still in production–even the older iPhone 12. For the iPhone 11, however, the company only offered remaining stock for sale.
Therefore, the device was still offered as refurbished on the relevant page in the Apple Store until early August. In Germany, however, the device is no longer found on the page, as reported by the news portal “Itopnews.” Apple has also removed the iPhone 11 from sale in other countries, as TECHBOOK has discovered–so this is not an isolated case. According to data from the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, the smartphone was still available in the Apple Store Germany on August 4 and in the Apple Store USA on August 7.

iPhone 12 and 13 Mini Are Next in Line
With the launch of the iPhone 15, Apple will once again revamp its lineup and likely discontinue the iPhone 12. This also means that production of the older model will definitely end, and it will only be available as a refurbished option at a reduced price. If the company sticks to its established pattern, only the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and the newly added iPhone 15 will be available directly from Apple. The iPhone 13 mini may also be phased out in this transition. Last year, with the introduction of the iPhone 14, Apple already discontinued the iPhone 12 mini. The demand for the mini iPhone fell short of expectations. So, anyone looking to purchase an iPhone 13 mini from the official store doesn’t have much time left.
Apple’s complete discontinuation of the iPhone 11 doesn’t mean the model is nowhere to be found. Older iPhones are often still available from third-party sellers for years after being discontinued–as long as stock lasts.
