Amazon is launching new hardware from the acquired AI company Bee for the first time. The devices record conversations, automatically create summaries, and are designed to remember important information for their users.
Conversations Are Automatically Documented
With the Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse models, Amazon expands its offerings around personal AI assistants. Both devices are designed to listen to conversations, evaluate their content, and then automatically create digital notes. Users can later view and search the recordings in an associated app.

The two devices follow different concepts. The Bee Frontier can be worn as a wristband or attached to clothing; the Bee Eclipse is magnetically attached to the back of a smartphone. After pressing a button, the devices start recording. The integrated AI then creates summaries of the key content, so conversations no longer need to be manually documented.

What Happens to the Conversations?
Amazon acquired the startup Bee in September 2025. Now, the first new products are appearing under the company’s direction. The endurance of the Bee Eclipse has been significantly increased. While earlier models reportedly lasted about a week, the new smartphone variant is said to last more than three weeks on a single charge, thanks in part to four microphones.
Amazon is trying to address potential privacy concerns. According to the company, audio data is processed immediately and then deleted. Only encrypted transcripts and AI-generated summaries are stored permanently. Users can always decide which transcripts remain. Additionally, a light indicates when the devices are actively listening. During phone calls, the system also prompts users to obtain consent from conversation partners beforehand.
Additional Features for a Fee
The devices can do more than just document conversations. When linked with services such as Gmail or Outlook, the AI can even draft emails based on the recorded content. Additionally, the summaries can later be accessed via Amazon’s AI assistant Alexa+.
The Bee Frontier costs $74.99 in the U.S., while the Bee Eclipse is priced at $99.99. The purchase price includes conversation summaries and access to notes from the past 14 days. However, Amazon charges $11.99 per month for the Bee Pro subscription for additional features. The company has not yet announced when the devices will be available in Germany.
