Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 27.3. The biggest update since the launch of iOS 27 in September primarily revamps the Health app. It also introduces new features for Safari and enhancements for StandBy, Apple Music, and Fitness+.
Health App Determines Biological Age
Originally, Apple showcased the new Health app in the beta of iOS 27.2, but then removed it from the final version. With iOS 27.3, it makes a comeback. The revamped app consolidates activity rings, heart rate, and sleep into the new “Insights” section. Apple Intelligence analyzes the data and provides personalized tips based on set goals.

In the “Longevity” section (German: “Langlebigkeit”), the app calculates the “Health Age,” or biological age. This is based on factors such as resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and VO2 max. The necessary values are sourced from the Apple Watch.
The result may differ from the actual age and is intended to reflect physical condition. The app categorizes long-term data into seven areas: heart, sleep, mental well-being, movement, metabolism, hearing, and nutrition.
The new Health app is not yet available in German. To try it out, users must change the iPhone language to English.
Safari Gets Vertical Tabs
Safari can display tabs vertically in a sidebar. This is intended to provide more clarity, especially on the iPhone Duo and iPad. An adaptive dark mode creates dark displays for websites without their own night view.

Speaking of the iPhone Duo: iOS 27.3 includes a host of other innovations specifically for the foldable smartphone. This includes a new one-handed mode that shifts screen content to make it more accessible. The Duo keyboard on the outer screen has also been slightly adjusted. Apple has rearranged the keys for emojis, numbers, microphone, and enter. Additionally, the keys are narrower and the letters smaller, while the space bar is slightly wider.

Siri Works Directly in Apps
With iOS 27.3, Siri AI receives a major update that unlocks a host of additional features within apps. In Mail, the AI-powered assistant can recall sent messages and cancel newsletter subscriptions. Safari tabs can be managed, duplicate tabs closed, and history deleted.
In the Files app, Siri organizes documents and removes old files. Additional features are coming for Messages, Music, Calendar, and Photos. Developers can connect their apps to Siri via an interface. Language support is expanded to include traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish, and Norwegian.
Siri AI is still not available in the European Union, so the aforementioned features will not be coming to Germany for now.
