For years, there was speculation about a foldable iPhone, and now it’s official. At the Apple Event 2026, the company not only unveiled the new iPhone Duo but also the iPhone 18 Pro, new AirPods, Apple Watches, and iOS 27.
With the iPhone Duo, Apple is launching its first foldable smartphone. When unfolded, the display expands to 7.6 inches, offering the largest screen ever on an iPhone. When folded, a 5.4-inch outer display is available for use on the go. The device is powered by the new A20 Pro processor. It also features a 48-megapixel camera and the AI platform Siri AI.

The larger inner display allows for the simultaneous display of two apps on an iPhone for the first time. Additionally, the foldable design opens up new possibilities for photos, videos, and video calls. Apple uses a titanium case, a newly developed hinge, and improved protection against scratches, water, and dust. Despite the complex construction, the battery life is expected to last up to 24 hours.
The iPhone Duo comes in Star White and Night Black, starting at 2,249 euros, and will be available for pre-order on October 16. Shipping begins on October 23. Apple describes it as the most significant advancement of the iPhone since the original model.
iPhone 18 Pro and AirPods 5 focus on AI and new features
In addition to the foldable model, Apple also introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The centerpiece is a new 48-megapixel camera with a variable aperture, designed to provide more control over depth of field. The A20 Pro chip also powers these models. They feature improved cooling, longer battery life, and a revamped Dynamic Island that can display up to three live activities simultaneously.
At the center is also Siri AI. The new version is designed to better understand personal contexts, recognize content on the display, and perform tasks independently. For photos, Apple introduces the “Apple Reference Image” feature, which checks the authenticity of images. However, Siri AI will initially not be available in Germany. The Pro models come in Black, Silver, Glacier, and Burgundy.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the U.S., and the Pro Max at $1,299. Apple also introduced the AirPods 5. They are said to block up to 50 percent more ambient noise than the AirPods 4, offer live translations via Apple Intelligence, and feature control through head movements. Prices start at 149 euros or 169 euros for the version with an extended charging case.
Apple Watches and iOS 27 for more health and AI
The Apple Watch Series 12 also receives numerous updates. Apple promises the most accurate heart rate measurement yet for its smartwatch. The pulse is recorded every five seconds, and the watch also measures heart rate variability more frequently. New is a daily form score from 0 to 10, which considers sleep, activity, stress, and other health metrics. Siri AI is also expected to better understand personal contexts and answer more complex questions on the watch. The smartwatch will be available on September 18 and will again be offered in a ceramic version.
For outdoor enthusiasts, Apple introduces the Watch Ultra 4. In power-saving mode, it is expected to last up to 84 hours, and up to 45 hours during GPS activities. It also incorporates the new health and AI features of the Series 12. The presentation was rounded off with iOS 27. The update will be released on September 14 and includes a comprehensively revised Siri.
However, the AI features will be limited to devices from the iPhone 15 Pro onward. Additionally, Apple introduces a revamped “Liquid Glass” design, new child protection features, and further performance improvements. New versions of iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS are also expected to be released simultaneously.
