Alongside the release of Android 17, Google is also rolling out the new “Pixel Feature Drop” for June 2026. The quarterly update brings several new features to supported Pixel smartphones.
The focus is on enhancements for Gemini, new tools for content creation, and additional features for security and everyday use. The rollout has already begun and is expected to reach all supported devices in the coming weeks.
New Tools for Music and Videos
Google is expanding Gemini with a new music creation feature. Users can describe various attributes of a desired track, such as style, tempo, or vocals. Based on this, the AI creates a suitable audio track.
For video editing, Google is also introducing Gemini Omni. However, the feature will initially launch exclusively in the U.S. Within a chat interface, users can edit texts, images, and videos. According to Google, this allows content to be quickly adapted and designed without additional software. It is currently unclear when Gemini Omni will be available in Europe.
Translations and File Sharing Expanded
The interpreter function is also receiving new support. It is coming to the Pixel 10a and enables real-time translation of phone calls. Several languages are supported, including German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
Additionally, Google is enhancing Quick Share on the Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a. The feature now also works with Apple’s AirDrop, expanding file sharing between the systems.

Furthermore, Google is expanding the emergency functions of its smartphones. If a device detects an accident, a fall, or a pulse loss, it automatically informs emergency services and saved contacts. Users can individually set which people should be notified in the settings.
Google Photos Gets AI Support
Google Photos is also getting new features. “Ask Google Photos” is now available in Germany and other European countries. Users can initiate edits via voice command, such as removing reflections or changing colors. The underlying Gemini language models understand the instructions and implement the desired changes directly. This expands the photo app’s capabilities with additional AI-supported tools.
