In recent weeks, the rate of leaks about the iPhone Fold has significantly accelerated. Details about the under-display camera, the large battery, and the crease-free display have emerged. Now, new information has reached us that picks up on many of the previous rumors and, for the first time, provides a picture of the device’s actual size.
The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station describes on the Chinese blog platform Weibo (via “MacRumors“) a device that differs significantly from the company’s previous models. The focus is on an especially thin casing, a new form factor, and several hardware decisions specifically tailored to a foldable design. The statements are said to be based on the current development status and show the direction in which the project is moving.
Leak Confirms Return of Touch ID
Digital Chat Station speaks of a horizontal device in book format with a large internal screen. To make the casing slimmer, Apple is reportedly forgoing Face ID and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display. Instead, a side-mounted Touch ID sensor is to be used, TECHBOOK reported.
As previous leaks have already indicated, Apple is working to make the display crease in the middle of the device practically invisible. Particular attention is likely being paid to the hinge, which is supposed to be especially durable and support the display from behind.
Display Size in the iPhone Fold
The prototype is said to feature a 7.58-inch internal display with no cutout for a front camera. Apple is working on an under-display camera, which is expected to be used for the first time in the iPhone Fold.

The leak mentions a 5.25-inch external display. This is roughly the size of the earlier iPhone mini models (5.4 inches) and could make the Fold a real alternative for small hands. The external display is expected to have a traditional cutout for the front camera. It remains unclear how Apple will handle Dynamic Island in this context in the future.
On the back, a dual-camera system with two 48-megapixel sensors is reportedly planned. This information aligns with the forecasts of financial giant JP Morgan. The cameras are likely to have larger sensor areas but will forgo optical image stabilization due to space constraints.
