Google is expanding its wireless headphones, Pixel Buds, with new AI features. With Gemini, settings for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a can soon be changed via voice command. The update will be released as part of a feature drop for supported models.

For the control to work, Gemini and the headphones must be connected to the same Google account. After that, users can say, “Hey Google, turn up the bass.” Gemini will then adjust the equalizer. Volume, active noise cancellation, conversation detection, and touch control options can also be managed.

What Makes Gemini Better
The operation is similar to the previous Google Assistant. However, Gemini is supposed to understand natural language and context better. Users are therefore less dependent on preset commands. Google is gradually replacing the Assistant with its AI across all platforms.

Not All Models Benefit
Older Pixel Buds can also partially use Gemini. However, they do not receive all the new features. The update for supported models is distributed via the Google Play Store.
