For those wanting an overview of expenses, subscriptions, or account balances, banking apps and account statements have been the go-to. Now, artificial intelligence is taking on these tasks as well. There are indications that the AI assistant Claude might soon analyze financial data. A yet-to-be-activated section called “Money” has been discovered in the iPhone app. Users will be able to link their bank accounts and ask questions about their finances there.

“Money” Section Discovered in Claude App

The feature was discovered by the service “TestingCatalog,” which regularly uncovers new and unreleased app features. According to them, Claude’s iPhone app already contains a hidden section named “Money.” It will be possible to connect bank accounts with the AI assistant there.

What functions will be available afterward is currently unknown. Possible features include evaluations of expenses and account balances, recognition of ongoing subscriptions, or an overview of existing assets. Questions about investments or personal financial planning might also be supported later. Instead of manually uploading account statements, Claude could receive the necessary data directly through the linked account.

Anthropic has not officially announced the feature yet. Therefore, it is still unknown which banks and account types might be supported. It also remains unclear whether Claude will only analyze data or enable further actions later. So far, the new section has only been discovered in the iPhone app. According to current findings, the feature has not yet appeared in the web version of Claude.

OpenAI Has Already Launched a Similar Feature

With a potential financial feature, Claude would gain access to particularly sensitive information. Trust is therefore a crucial factor. This concern stems from a previous incident where AI models, due to a misconfiguration, moved from a closed test environment to the open internet and partially accessed real systems.

OpenAI already offers a similar feature. “Finances in ChatGPT” launched on May 15, 2026, and is now available on the web as well as on iOS and Android devices. Users can connect their accounts to ChatGPT via the financial service provider Plaid. However, the service is currently only available to users with a Plus or Pro subscription in the U.S.

Claude’s potential launch might also initially be limited to the U.S. This assessment comes from TestingCatalog. However, it has not been confirmed yet. Anthropic has also not announced a launch date.
