Some products from the device manufacturer Anker pose a fire hazard. As a result, certain models are being recalled. TECHBOOK reveals the details.
Portable tech gadgets greatly simplify daily life, ensuring you stay informed or can fill your immediate surroundings with your favorite music anytime, anywhere. To this end, built-in batteries have become widespread–but this can also become a safety risk. Currently, some products from the popular manufacturer Anker pose a fire hazard. The company has already responded.
Voluntary Recall for Anker Products with Fire Hazard
The well-known manufacturer proactively informed about the difficult situation in a press email. According to the email, a potential fire hazard has been identified in a product line or batch from Anker. This hazard stems from the batteries installed in the respective devices.
Although it concerns “a small number of a total of three products,” the company stated that “the safety of our devices for our customers […] is of absolute priority.” Therefore, they have decided on a voluntary recall to mitigate the risk.
These Anker Products Are Affected by the Fire Hazard
Specifically, the following three devices are involved. Each has further recall information on their respective product pages, which affected individuals should urgently review:
- soundcore Speaker (Model: A3102 – only in black)
- AnkerWork PowerConf S3 (Model: A3302 – in black and blue)
- Anker 321 Power Bank (Model: A1112)
Anker explicitly points out that currently available product lines or batches are not affected by the issue.

What Customers Should Do
To determine if they own an Anker product with a fire hazard, customers should check the serial numbers and compare them with the mentioned models. If there is a match, the device should be turned off immediately and customer service should be contacted. The product should then be taken to a facility equipped to handle lithium-ion batteries.

Dangerous Batteries Are Now a Common Topic
Lithium-ion batteries are the current standard in the electronics and electromobility industry. They are very efficient, but it has long been known that they always pose a certain safety risk. There have been incidents where electric cars or e-scooters caught fire–or even a smartphone in a pocket.
The New York Fire Department released a video in 2023 to warn about the dangers of lithium-ion batteries:
