For the second time in two years, Netflix has raised its subscription prices. However, some users can temporarily lower them again. This is made possible by a new cashback promotion from PayPal. Those who meet the requirements will receive a portion of their subscription fees back for several months.
According to PayPal’s own information, the promotion applies to the “Standard with Ads” subscription, which currently costs 6.99 euros per month. PayPal refunds up to 3.50 euros per monthly payment. Those who take advantage of the offer over the three-month promotional period can receive up to 10.50 euros back to their PayPal account. PayPal and Netflix launched the joint campaign to coincide with the start of the second season of “The Gentlemen” in Germany.
Users Must Follow Three Steps
To participate in the promotion, users must first activate the corresponding offer in the PayPal app. Only then should the Netflix subscription be completed and PayPal selected as the payment method. Simply paying via PayPal is not enough to automatically participate in the promotion.

Additional conditions apply. For instance, no Netflix payment via PayPal should have occurred in the 31 days prior to participation. Furthermore, the promotion is limited to a total of 80,000 participants, and registration runs until September 30, 2026, at the latest. However, if the participant limit is reached earlier, the promotion may end before this date.
Regular Price Automatically Continues
With the third cashback, only the refund from PayPal ends. The Netflix subscription then continues at the regular price.
For users who wanted to try the ad-supported subscription anyway and meet the conditions, the promotion can be quite worthwhile. However, caution is advised. Since the subscription automatically continues at the regular price after the cashback promotion ends, users should keep an eye on ongoing costs and cancel in time if necessary. The ad-supported standard subscription can be canceled monthly.
