Apple has released a new beta version of its Android app, Apple Music. With version 5.2, the company is testing a feature designed to make playlist creation easier for users. For the first time, Apple is also using an AI-driven solution on Android that automatically generates suitable music suggestions.
The new version is aimed at users who want to find music for specific situations more quickly. Instead of selecting tracks themselves, a brief input is enough to receive a complete playlist.
“Playlist Playground” Generates Music Suggestions
The new AI feature is called “Playlist Playground.” It automatically creates music lists as soon as users enter an idea or mood. This allows playlists to be compiled for different occasions, such as for sports activities or relaxing moments in the evening.
The app takes full responsibility for song selection. Users no longer need to search for or add individual tracks. The goal is to significantly reduce the effort involved in music selection.
Generative AI as the Basis
Apple Music 5.2 uses generative AI for this purpose. Algorithms are intended to evaluate text descriptions and make a suitable song selection from them. The software aims to provide music that matches the desired style or current mood.
According to Apple, this feature is based on the company’s proprietary AI technology, which is also used in other services. For users, the technology remains in the background while the operation is kept simple.

Revamped Design on Apple Music
In addition to the new AI feature, Apple has also updated the design of Apple Music. Albums and playlists are now displayed with large cover images that fill the entire screen, giving the presentation a more modern and clearer look.
Key controls like the play button have been placed more centrally. Other functions, such as “Shuffle” or “Download,” have also been rearranged to make access easier.
Beta Version Without a Fixed Launch Date
Currently, Apple Music 5.2 is only available as a beta version. This means that only registered testers have access to the new features. It is not yet known if and when Apple will release the AI playlist feature and the new design for all Android users.
