Many people may not understand it, but horror films have always been very popular. And for fans, the eerie stories can’t be bloody and creepy enough, whether in the cinema or on the home TV. For them, “Remnants” might be of particular interest–it’s a horror film exclusively for the Apple Vision Pro.
Apple Brings Horror Film to Vision Pro
Watching a horror film is tough enough for the faint-hearted. But being virtually in the middle of the action? That could set new records for heart rate monitoring. This unusual viewing experience will soon become a reality when “Remnants,” Apple’s first “immersive horror film” for the Vision Pro, is released.
An initial short trailer has already been released, showing less of the film itself and more of viewers’ reactions, as they scream and flinch in fright:
There aren’t many plot details either. It only mentions Woldmere Castle, which viewers enter along with the protagonist. A monster is also hinted at briefly. Otherwise, the preview remains deliberately vague, letting the reactions of the poor chosen ones speak for themselves.

Famous Faces in Front of and Behind the Camera
According to “Bloody Disgusting,” it won’t be a feature-length film. With a runtime of 27 minutes, “Remnants” is clearly classified as a short film. However, this shouldn’t be a disadvantage. After all, the Apple Vision Pro is quite heavy and would be tiring to wear for a longer duration.
Series fans know that good horror can also be effective in short form. This is ensured by well-known names in front of and behind the camera. Directed by specialist Ti West, who is known for “X” and “MaXXXine.” Stars include Lucy Boynton (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) and Ralph Ineson (“The Witch,” “Frankenstein” 2025), who should be familiar to film fans.
Games Have Paved the Way
It’s not the first time horror and VR have formed a symbiosis. Some of the more modern “Resident Evil” games have successfully supported VR headsets to make the horror even more intense.

Due to the relatively rare and expensive hardware, however, only a few people may be able to watch “Remnants.” It’s also unclear whether there will be a conventional release later. The film is set to be released on October 16, 2026.
