Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for roles as the Terminator, action hero, and muscleman. However, in his next film, he shows a different side: In the new Christmas comedy “Stolen Christmas,” the 79-year-old dons the red coat and plays Santa Claus. A first teaser for the film is now available.
Schwarzenegger Must Save Christmas
The story begins with a rather big problem for Santa Claus. A rogue elf, played by U.S. rapper Awkwafina, steals his magical red gift sack. This puts the Christmas celebration at risk. Santa needs help and looks for a suitable assistant on his Naughty List.
He chooses Vance, a thief played by Alan Ritchson. Series fans know the actor primarily as Reacher from the Amazon series of the same name. Vance eventually assembles a team to retrieve the stolen sack. The unusual helpers receive support from elves and reindeer.
The first teaser was released on September 30, 2026, and provides a more detailed look at Schwarzenegger as Santa. The former action star doesn’t completely leave his past behind. In the short video, he says, “I’m back!” referencing his famous “Terminator” line.

A Christmas Film After 30 Years
For Schwarzenegger, the genre isn’t entirely new. In 1996, he starred in “Jingle All the Way,” which was released in Germany under the title “Versprochen ist versprochen.” However, he didn’t play Santa Claus in that film but a father desperately searching for a coveted Christmas gift. “Stolen Christmas” is released exactly 30 years after this Christmas comedy.

At the same time, the new film marks another comeback. Since “Terminator: Dark Fate” in 2019, no new film with Schwarzenegger has been released in theaters. Most recently, the Hollywood star was seen in the Netflix series “FUBAR.”

- Ken Jeong
- Liza Koshy
- Matty Cardarople
- Kyle Mooney
- Michael Cyril Creighton
Directed by Adam Shankman, known for “Hairspray.” The screenplay is by Allan Rice.
Fans won’t have to wait long for Schwarzenegger’s Santa Claus. “Stolen Christmas” premieres worldwide on December 2, 2026, on Prime Video.
