Not only Netflix or Disney+ regularly treat their subscribers to top-notch films and series. Those who also check out smaller providers will find must-see gems that can spark just as much conversation. Despite its well-known name, Apple TV is still relatively less widespread. However, the series “Nocturne” has now become a real hit.
“Nocturne” Dominates Charts
This is now evident from the latest figures on Flixpatrol, where the performance of films and series on various streaming services in the market is tracked and displayed. Anyone with an Apple TV subscription cannot miss “Nocturne” at the moment.
Since its launch on October 30, it has been the hottest title on the platform of the iPhone manufacturer. On November 1, it reached its peak: In an impressive 92 countries, “Nocturne” was at the top of the charts that day, including in Germany. Since then, the number has dropped to “only” 73 countries. However, with the upcoming weekend, this could change again.

What “Nocturne” Is About
Jonah Lynn leaves his work as a homicide detective in Philadelphia behind and seeks peace with his family in a small town in western Pennsylvania. But there, he once again finds himself in deadly danger: The serial killer Jurek Walter has targeted the town and Jonah’s relatives.
After the investigation into a still-missing victim stalls, Jonah turns to his foster daughter Saga Bauer. As an FBI agent, she joins the pursuit of the murderer. At the same time, Jonah faces the question of what he is willing to do to protect his family.

How Worth Watching Is “Nocturne” Really?
The current success speaks for itself, but is it justified? Or is it simply because the rather sparse quantitative offering on Apple TV forces users to “Nocturne” because there’s nothing else?
Who knows. The international press is at least impressed by the series. On Rotten Tomatoes, for example, a very good 85 percent of all reviews received were positive. The average score of 70 points on Metacritic is also very good.
In contrast, however, there is only a lukewarm reception from viewers. On Rotten Tomatoes, only 59 percent of fans responded favorably, which is not enough for an overall good rating. The fan rating of 4.1 on Metacritic is also disappointing. Interested parties should therefore best make up their own minds about the adaptation of the book by Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril.
