Disney continues to keep the Star Wars machine running. Just recently, “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” the first “Star Wars” film since 2019, hit theaters. Another project for the big screen is already in the works and is titled “Star Wars: Starfighter.” Rumors about new plot details have now surfaced.
Many Stars Join “Star Wars: Starfighter”
The new blockbuster from Disney boasts plenty of star power both in front of and behind the camera. Superstar Ryan Gosling is set as the lead actor. Additionally, well-known names like Amy Adams, Mia Goth, and Matt Smith will appear. The film is directed by Shawn Levy, who has directed “Deadpool & Wolverine” and was also involved in several episodes of “Stranger Things.”
According to “SFF Gazette,” the story of “Star Wars: Starfighter” is set about five years after “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Further details have been scarce, but now the well-known leaker FivesWalker claims to have more information. None of this is confirmed, so these reports should be taken with caution.

What “Star Wars: Starfighter” Is Supposed to Be About
According to the reports, Goth is supposed to play a kind of bounty hunter who is Force-sensitive and wields a lightsaber. She works for a warlord and arms dealer (Smith) who is notorious throughout the galaxy. Her mission: to track down the nephew of Gosling’s character.
Previous rumors that she was a follower of the Sith are said to be unfounded. And although she has connections to the arms dealer, she is said to have her own agenda. This could also involve her secretly training someone.
The boy and his mother are also said to be Force-sensitive. At the beginning of the film, she is supposed to die and pass her lightsaber to the boy with her last breaths. She gives him the task of finding his uncle, whom he has never met, and who turns out to be a washed-up pilot and former war hero haunted by the demons of his past. Initially, they do not get along, but that changes as the story progresses.

There is also a rumor that the pilot takes his nephew on a journey across the galaxy to bring him to someone who could train him as a Jedi. This person could be Rey Skywalker, the main character of “Star Wars” films 7 to 9. If true, it would pave the way for Daisy Ridley’s return in her well-known role.
