For years, September 1 has been the unofficial holiday for “Harry Potter” fans worldwide. On this day in the story, the Hogwarts Express departs, where Harry, Ron, and Hermione first meet. Each year, this date is hosted by Warner Brothers Discovery and celebrated with various festivities around the magical world. 2026 holds some special surprises.
As reported by the U.S. industry magazine “Variety,” this year will particularly focus on the 25th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” However, there will also be re-releases of all other “Harry Potter” parts and numerous live events in various regions. Fans of the brand will also get new insights into the upcoming series adaptation.

Special Edition of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” Coming
As part of the celebrations, the first “Harry Potter” film will return to theaters for an entire week. But that’s not all: The version will include twelve minutes of background material that has never been seen in theaters before. Additionally, the other seven “Harry Potter” films will also receive re-releases–worldwide.

Berlin Also Hosting an Event
Additionally, there will be events in London, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, China, Australia, and Japan. HBO Max will host its own “Back to Hogwarts” for the first time in London.
