Quiz shows usually focus on general knowledge from the same areas. STREAM WARS is different. In the new video series from TECHBOOK.de, knowledge about streaming services is required. To earn points, contestant Larissa and quiz European champion Sebastian Klussmann must be familiar with series, the history of providers, and the appropriate technology. The duel between the two is intense! The show is hosted by TECHBOOK editorial director Andreas Filbig.

The Contestants of Episode 1

In each episode of STREAM WARS, the goal is to beat quiz expert Sebastian Klussmann. To start, influencer Larissa Neumann tries her luck. Here’s a brief overview of the contestants.

Challenger Larissa Neumann

The 21-year-old became known through her participation in the 15th season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” (GNTM), which aired in 2020. Larissa finished in seventh place. She continues to leverage the popularity gained from the show as an influencer. Under the name @tigerlariz, she posts for her 166,000 followers. Larissa is particularly passionate about her podcast “We Are BLOND and What’s Your Excuse,” which she runs with her friend Maxine.

Quiz Expert Sebastian Klussmann

Sebastian Klussmann is a walking quiz superlative. He is a professional quizzer and established the sport in Germany. Klussmann is the reigning quiz European champion and enjoys sharing his knowledge. In his book “Besserwissen mit dem Besserwisser” (Know Better with the Know-It-All), he offers tips on how to train your general knowledge. On ARD, he appears as a hunter in the quiz show “Gefragt – Gejagt” (Asked – Hunted).

The Streaming Knowledge of the Contestants

Anyone who thinks the quiz expert already has victory in the bag is sorely mistaken. Unlike geography, history, or sports, even professional quizzers haven’t had years to acquire knowledge on streaming. In STREAM WARS, it often comes down to whether you’ve seen the specific series being asked about.

And without giving too much away: Challenger Larissa does well. Who ultimately comes out on top in the exciting duel can be seen in Episode 1 of STREAM WARS. Here are the rules for the four game rounds.

The Four Game Rounds in STREAM WARS

1.) Picture Quiz

In Round 1, contestants see a picture of an actor or actress and the logo of a streaming service. They must guess which series on that service the actor appears in. Whoever knows the answer must be quick to press the buzzer first. If the answer is correct, they earn a point. If wrong, the opponent gets a point.

2.) True or False?

In Round 2 of STREAM WARS, players must evaluate five streaming statements as “True” or “False.” The statements cover not only series but also streaming services in general. Each correct answer earns a point.

3.) Which Series, Which Service?

In the third round, contestants must identify the correct series and streaming service based on a shown scene. They must write both answers secretly on a board–but only have ten seconds to do so. Then, the answers are revealed, and a point is awarded for the correct series and another for the correct streaming service.

4.) Cross-Examination

The final round of STREAM WARS is the cross-examination. Here, there’s a chance to earn a lot of points, as each correct answer is worth two points. However, the questions are challenging: the cross-examination also covers streaming technology. Players take turns answering five open questions and must provide the correct answer–even “approximately” won’t suffice!
