In early June, DKB announced plans to soon revamp its online banking via browser and to focus more on the new app. However, the latter has been missing important features until now. The bank is now addressing some of these with an update.
Everything is set to change soon at DKB. For several months, the direct bank has been offering a new app, which can currently be used alongside the existing banking app. Like the new website, it is expected to completely replace the old versions soon. The new DKB banking app offers a more modern look and aims to make key functions more accessible. However, some core functions have been missing, making the new app less appealing for everyday use compared to the old version. An update is now set to remedy this.
New Features in the DKB App Update
The update for the DKB app is available for iOS users as well as Android device owners. It upgrades the app to version 1.32 and introduces two main features. One is the ability to adjust standing orders directly in the new app, and the other is the ability to edit scheduled transfers. The lack of an option to edit existing standing orders has already been criticized by TECHBOOK.
In response to our inquiry, the bank assured in early June that full functionality, including the direct modification of standing orders, had already been completed by the app developers. “A release for all customers is planned in the coming weeks,” a bank spokesperson told TECHBOOK at the time. DKB has now fulfilled this promise. From now on, users can not only edit standing orders and scheduled transfers via the new app, but the update also allows them to adjust the transfer limit through the app.

Apart from these three new features, DKB lists the fixing of minor bugs and errors in the update’s changelog and announces that it is continuing to work on developing new features behind the scenes.
Functionality of the New DKB App Expands
DKB has been working on its new app for some time. Compared to the old application, which can still be used, the new version is recognizable by the blue icon featuring the DKB logo in white.
The new app entered beta testing in spring 2021 and officially launched in the summer. It focuses on mobile use and offers a fresher look with adjusted fonts and larger buttons. Initially, the range of functions was limited. However, since its launch, DKB has been regularly releasing updates that introduce new features–the current update to version 1.32 is an example. While the new app still cannot match the old version in terms of functionality, the bank is already working on further adjustments so that the new app can soon fully replace the old one.
