PayPal is introducing its own rewards program, PayPal+, for German customers. With this program, users can earn points on payments, which can later be used as discounts or credits.
Earn Points While Paying
To participate in PayPal+, users simply need to activate the new program once in the app. After that, points are automatically accumulated when paying with PayPal.
For every five euros spent, users earn one point. It doesn’t matter if the money comes from a bank account, credit card, or PayPal balance. Points are also credited for many other payments made through PayPal.

Bonus Points in Stores Too
Points aren’t just available for online shopping. Users can also earn them when paying in stores using the PayPal Card or certain PayPal payment functions.
Additionally, there will be regular special promotions and extra offers, allowing users to earn more points than usual. PayPal points can be used alongside other rewards programs.
What the Points Are Worth
The accumulated points can be used later for payments. According to PayPal, 1,000 points equal a discount of ten euros on an online purchase.
All participants start in the free “Blue” status. Once 4,000 points are collected, users automatically receive “Gold” status. Points are worth more when redeemed: Gold members get 20 percent more value for their points.
