Dyson is expanding its range with a new oral care product. The CameraJet combines an electric toothbrush with a camera, AI features, and a water jet for cleaning teeth. Notable is not only the technology but also the price. The model is expected to cost around 470 euros.
Camera Delivers Live Images from the Mouth
The centerpiece of the CameraJet is a camera directly in the brush head. Dyson has installed a 100,000-pixel macro camera that takes images from the mouth while brushing. Through the MyDyson app, users can follow the images in real-time and see which areas are being cleaned.
According to the manufacturer, the camera is supposed to make areas visible that are easily overlooked while brushing. These include interdental spaces and hard-to-see areas in the back of the mouth. The images are intended to help make hard-to-see areas visible during brushing, according to Dyson.
AI to Detect Missed Areas
The images are not just for live viewing. An AI-supported algorithm is supposed to analyze the camera images and automatically recognize interdental spaces. The software is designed to mark areas that are often missed during brushing.
Subsequently, users should be able to specifically clean these areas. Whether the detection works reliably in everyday use and actually leads to better results remains to be seen in independent tests. Also, using a camera during every brushing session may not appeal to everyone.
Water Jet Cleans Interdental Spaces
For cleaning, Dyson combines sonic technology with a water jet. According to Dyson, the water jet is supposed to remove plaque between the teeth. To ensure the function works regardless of the toothbrush’s position, the manufacturer uses a so-called anti-gravity container.
The integrated water tank holds 12.5 milliliters. Additionally, the CameraJet uses a dual bristle arrangement. This is intended to reduce surface stains. Users can choose between three intensity levels: “Gentle,” “Moderate,” and “Deep Clean.”

According to the manufacturer, the CameraJet’s battery can be removed and replaced. This is intended to extend the toothbrush’s lifespan. The included charging station serves simultaneously for charging, storing, and filling the device.

The package includes two brush heads, a charging station in “Steel Purple,” a travel case, and a waterproof USB-C to Pogo-Pin cable with a magnetic connection. Additionally, Dyson plans to offer matching toothpaste and mouthwash in the “Mint Green” variant. According to the manufacturer, the products were specially developed for the CameraJet.
New Technology Drives Up the Price
With a price of around 470 euros, the Dyson CameraJet is significantly more expensive than many premium models from Oral-B or Philips Sonicare. Whether the camera, AI, and water jet offer noticeable benefits in everyday use or are mainly responsible for the high price will need to be determined by independent practical tests.
The toothbrush with a live camera in the mouth certainly attracts attention and stands out significantly from previous models on the market.
