The iPhone 18 Pro has just been released, yet early details about its possible successor are already circulating. For the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, Apple is reportedly working on both the name and the design.
Several leakers report that Apple is already testing prototypes of the next iPhone generation. Since the first iPhone was introduced in 2007, the anniversary model could appear as the iPhone 20 instead of the iPhone 19 in 2027. There is no official confirmation of this yet.

According to the well-known insider Digital Chat Station, the display size is expected to increase significantly. The iPhone 20 Pro could feature a 6.41-inch display, while the Pro Max might grow to 6.96 inches. For comparison, the current iPhone 18 Pro offers 6.3 inches, and the Pro Max 6.9 inches. The difference would be especially noticeable in the smaller Pro model.
Apple is reportedly testing a nearly bezel-less screen
In addition to larger displays, Apple is said to be working on a new screen design. Reports suggest the company is testing a so-called quad-curved display, where the screen slightly curves toward the frame on all four sides.
The effect: The edges appear significantly narrower, and the smartphone seems almost bezel-less. However, the concept is not entirely new. Manufacturers like Motorola and TECNO have already introduced devices with similar approaches. Whether Apple will actually adopt the design for mass production remains uncertain.
Dynamic Island likely to remain
The Dynamic Island might also change. Rumors suggest the cutout for the front camera and sensors will become smaller, but it is unlikely to disappear completely.
A camera under the display is still considered unlikely according to several reports. The image quality of such solutions currently does not meet Apple’s standards. Tests related to the foldable iPhone are cited as evidence. However, numerous changes are possible before an official unveiling. The current information is based solely on rumors and early test devices.
