With the Mobi Fold, manufacturer Logitech has introduced a mouse that can be folded for transport for the first time. The mouse can be compacted, wirelessly connected to multiple devices, and is designed for mobile use.
Mobile work is a daily routine for many employees. At the same time, a study conducted by Logitech shows that while 72 percent of professionals own a mouse, only 26 percent use such a device on the go. The company cites the dimensions and transport effort of conventional models as key reasons.
With the Mobi Fold, Logitech is responding to this usage behavior. The new model can be significantly reduced in size for transport and then brought into working position with a single motion. According to the manufacturer, using it compared to a laptop trackpad reduces muscle strain by 22 percent.
Touch Functions and Programmable Buttons
The device named Mobi Fold automatically activates upon opening and shuts off when folded, conserving battery capacity. According to Logitech, the hinge is designed for daily folding over a period of 15 years.
For navigation tasks, Logitech relies on a touch-sensitive surface for scrolling. This supports both slow movements through spreadsheets and fast navigation in extensive documents. Additionally, there are two programmable buttons whose functions users can customize via the Logi Options+ software.
The connection is wireless via Bluetooth, allowing up to three devices to be paired. Supported systems include Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android, iPadOS, and Linux. For businesses, Logitech also offers a business version that comes with a USB-C receiver.

Battery Life, Materials, and Market Launch
When fully charged, Logitech states a runtime of up to 30 days. After just one minute of charging, the mouse can be used again for up to 22 hours. An integrated software function is also intended to prevent accidental inputs when folding.
According to Logitech, recycled materials are used in manufacturing. The graphite model contains up to 36 percent certified recycled plastic. The magnets used are made from fully recycled rare earth metals.
The Mobi Fold is available worldwide in graphite. Depending on the market, including Germany, additional variants in lilac and off-white are available, with the lilac version being exclusively available online. The recommended retail price is 79.99 euros. The business version costs 84.99 euros.

Not the Only Foldable Mouse
Foldable or collapsible mice are not a completely new concept. Microsoft has been offering the Arc Mouse for some time, which is designed for mobile use. The Origami Mouse Air.0 by product designer Horace Lam can also be completely unfolded flat.
In comparison, Logitech takes a different approach with the Mobi Fold. While the Arc Mouse is more of a collapsible mouse, Logitech uses a folding mechanism. The Mobi Fold, when folded, is particularly compact and resembles the size and shape of the charging case of modern Bluetooth headphones. This makes it easier to transport, such as in a pants or jacket pocket.
