Lidl stocks a wide range of household and consumer electronics brands, including well-known companies and the lesser-known manufacturer Chiq. The latter is becoming increasingly important, especially on the international smart home market. TECHBOOK introduces the brand.
Discounters such as Lidl and Aldi are no longer just places to go for relatively cheap food. In addition to occasional offers in stores, they also offer a wide range of technology online—from smartphones and televisions to kitchen appliances. For some time now, the Lidl online store has also been offering consumer electronics from the Chiq brand (proper spelling: CHiQ), and this is not only attracting attention in the supermarket range.
Overview
Who Is Behind the Lidl Brand Chiq?
Chiq is a “high-end brand for intelligent household appliances”, according to the company website. Although it is not yet very well known in the United States, it has been around since 2014. Chiq is part of the Chinese Changhong Group, founded in 1958, a leading manufacturer of televisions in China, now facing increasing competition from brands like Hisense and TCL. This is shown by a survey conducted by the statistics platform “Statista“. With the introduction of Chiq, Changhong wanted to expand its presence on the international market, particularly in the area of smart home devices. A goal that appears to have been achieved.

Brand gains importance in the smart home market
Chiq received the award as one of the “Top 10 Global Smart Home Brands” at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2025. This emphasizes the brand’s growing importance in the international smart home market, which it is addressing with a range of new AI-driven products. Changhong presented various new smart TVs and home appliances at the fair. Further details are available in the press release.
Chiq is focusing on integrating innovative technologies into its product range. In addition to household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners, the range also includes smart TVs that can be seamlessly integrated into a smart home system. The household appliances include models with and without smart functions.
Lidl Stocks Televisions From Chiq – What Are They Good for?
Lidl offers various Chiq televisions. Most recently, this included a 40-inch model with Full HD resolution, QLED technology, HDR support, and Google TV for approximately 250 euros.
But how do Chiq televisions actually perform? “WELT” (which, like TECHBOOK, belongs to Axel Springer) recently evaluated several of the manufacturer’s TV sets. The U43QM8G model was highlighted as the best value for the price. The testers praised the high picture quality and the sleek frameless design of several Chiq models, while noting their below-average energy efficiency as a drawback.
Chiq televisions also score well overall on Testberichte.de, where independent product tests and reviews are compiled. Some models, such as the 58-inch U58H7S with Ultra HD, even received very good ratings. The devices, available in various screen sizes and resolutions, are recognized as reliable entry-level smart TVs that provide good value for money without skimping on essential features.
