LEGO has released many unusual sets. However, the newly introduced model is likely to surprise even experienced fans. For the first time, the manufacturer is launching a pinball machine that can actually be played after assembly.

Pinball Machine with Real Play Function

The new LEGO Icons “Arcade Pinball Machine” consists of 2,274 pieces. Unlike many collector models, the set is not just meant for display. After assembly, a ball can be launched onto the playfield using a spring mechanism and kept in play with movable flippers. The features also include:

  • movable flippers
  • rotating bumpers
  • a ball ramp
  • mechanical game elements
  • a progress system for game objectives

The design is inspired by classic arcade machines and incorporates LEGO’s popular Classic Space theme. Two matching astronaut minifigures are also included.

LEGO Relies on Pure Mechanics

What is particularly interesting is that the pinball machine functions entirely without electronics. Instead of motors or displays, LEGO uses a mix of gears, levers, and springs.

However, the model’s scale has its limitations. Typical pinball elements such as slingshots, targets, kickers, or a tilt mechanism have been omitted by LEGO. A short ramp is present, but it only guides the ball over a small bridge instead of the wire system typical for pinball machines.

Fully functional pinball machines made from LEGO have been known in the fan community for years. However, these were custom creations. With the Arcade Pinball Machine, an official LEGO set with this type of game mechanics is now being released for the first time.

Price and Availability

The set is part of the LEGO Icons series. Under this brand, LEGO primarily releases detailed models for adults. Accordingly, the pinball machine is rated 18+ and is primarily aimed at adult fans and collectors.

Members of the LEGO Insider Program will have access to the set starting July 1, 2026. The regular sales launch follows on July 4. The finished model measures 24 cm in height, 38 cm in length, and 28 cm in width. The sale price is 209.99 euros.
