Lego expands its architecture series with a special model. The Danish manufacturer has introduced the Sagrada Família from Barcelona as a new building set, setting a company record in the process. With a total of 12,060 pieces, it is the largest Lego set released to date. The model replicates one of Europe’s most famous structures and is primarily aimed at experienced builders.
New Record at Lego
The new set, numbered 21065, surpasses the Lego World Map as the previous leader. The model released in 2021 had 11,695 pieces. The Sagrada Família replica exceeds this by 365 pieces, setting a new benchmark within the range.
The order of construction is particularly noteworthy. According to Lego, it follows the actual construction sequence of the basilica. First, the vault with the crypt and the Nativity façade are built. These areas are part of the Sagrada Família that architect Antoni Gaudí was still able to oversee himself.
As construction progresses, the Passion façade, the naves, and the western sacristy are built. Then come six towers. Only afterward do the eastern sacristy and the Glory façade complete the model.

Model Reaches Impressive Dimensions
Once completed, the structure measures 62 centimeters in height, 47 centimeters in width, and 39 centimeters in depth. Transparent bricks are also intended to create a stained glass effect in the windows.
The trade magazine “Stonewars” estimates that the construction could take between 25 and 35 hours. The actual building time depends on the experience and skill of the builders.

A Lego spokeswoman told colleagues at BILD: “Generally, a set of this size goes through a process that often lasts months—from initial standalone concept models to intensive stability tests and the logical preparation of the complex building instructions.” There is usually more than a year between the final design and the start of sales.
Lego designer Rok Žgalin Kobe also commented on the project: “Our goal was to honor Gaudí’s vision with the utmost respect. It is not only the largest Lego set ever but also a model of one of the world’s most ambitious architectural works.”
Pre-order Already Available
Currently, the Sagrada Família can only be pre-ordered in the Lego online shop. Delivery is scheduled for November 1, 2026. Only then can buyers begin construction.
In terms of price, the model is among the manufacturer’s most expensive sets. Lego charges 749.99 euros for the kit at a scale of about 1:280. However, the replica remains below the price of the most expensive Lego set to date. The Death Star from the “Star Wars” series costs 999.99 euros.
For those looking to spend less, several alternatives are available according to steine-kanal.de. BlueBrixx offers a version of the church for 139.95 euros. The model includes 3,963 pieces. The model by South Korean designer JeongwonE (LesDiy MOC) consists of 10,083 pieces and costs 555.99 euros. The version from Chinese manufacturer Xingbao has 10,328 pieces and costs around 145 euros. However, in terms of the number of bricks, the new Lego set is significantly ahead of these models.
