Once again, the best video games were honored at the 2023 Game Awards this year. In over 30 categories, the nominated titles celebrated their wins.
The community speculated for a long time about when the nominees for each category at “The Game Awards 2023” would be announced. Now the time has come. Among others, the best will be chosen in the following categories: “Game of the Year,” “Best Story,” “Best Soundtrack and Music,” and many more.

The Winners of the Game Awards 2023
The Game Awards have been held since 2003. Until 2013, the event was known as the “Spike Video Game Awards.” For the past ten years, the awards have had their current name. The producer and host of the awards is gaming journalist Geoff Keighley. In addition to video games, adaptations or eSports athletes are also honored.
The two big winners of the evening are “Baldur’s Gate 3” and “Alan Wake 2.” However, other titles also impressed.
Game of the Year
Now to the Game Awards 2023. The most popular category is “Game of the Year.” Six video games were nominated; the favorite, “Baldur’s Gate 3,” won.

Who Has the Best Story of 2023?
In addition to the best game of the year, the award for the best story is also given. Among the nominees are some titles that are also contenders for Game of the Year. The dark game “Alan Wake 2” won.
The titular writer once again battles the dark presence in the game and must protect his mind from it. Wake’s thrilling story is complemented by that of FBI agent Saga Anderson, who also ends up in the seemingly idyllic small town of Bright Falls. There, she discovers the manuscript of a horror story and realizes that everything in it begins to come true.

How the Winners Were Chosen
The nominations were made by a jury of around 120 gaming and media companies from around the world. U.S., British, Argentine, German, and other gaming portals were involved in the decision. However, the final award was based on public voting.
Where to Follow “The Game Awards 2023”
On December 8, the Game Awards 2023 were held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. You could either attend live or stream the awards online on over 30 platforms–including Twitch, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok. Last year, over 103 million people streamed the Game Awards.
Due to the time difference, interested viewers in Germany had to tune in at 1:30 a.m. The show started at 4:30 p.m. in Los Angeles.
