In July, Plus subscribers will once again receive a selection of free bonus games. This month includes a real blockbuster.
In 2022, Sony revamped PlayStation Plus. Since then, there are three subscription options: Premium, Deluxe, and Essential. While the first two offer a catalog of games that can be played for free, Essential subscribers continue to receive a selection of titles that change monthly. In June 2025, there are again some PlayStation Plus games available for free as part of the subscription.
A Look at the PlayStation Plus Games for July
As usual, the new titles are released on the first Tuesday of the month—so on July 1. They are available for download until August 4. This month, Sony has a strong lineup, led by Diablo 4, which becomes free for PS Plus subscribers with PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4.
Diablo 4 (PS5, PS4)
“Diablo 4” is a dark action role-playing game from Blizzard Entertainment, set about 50 years after the events of “Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.” It revolves around the return of the demoness Lilith, daughter of Mephisto, who once again plunges the world of Sanctuary into chaos. As a so-called Nephalem—a being with heavenly and demonic origins—players face this threat. They must explore six different regions and experience a dark, atmospheric story that can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players (locally or online).
Players can choose from six individual classes, including Barbarian, Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, and with the “Vessel of Hatred” expansion, the new Spiritborn class, which channels ghostly powers. The deep character development system offers skill trees, legendary aspects, and a Paragon system for the endgame, unlocked after level 50. Over 120 procedurally generated dungeons, dynamic world events, massive world bosses, and PvP zones provide ongoing challenges and variety. Additionally, there are so-called Helltides—time-limited events with particularly valuable loot—and an extensive mount system that speeds up exploration of the open world.
Thanks to full crossplay and cross-progression, players can use their progress across platforms on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X/S. The “Vessel of Hatred” expansion, released in October 2024, not only introduced a new region (Nahantu) but also a cooperative endgame dungeon with multiple phases, expanded Paragon content, and fresh story elements around Lilith’s dark machinations. Since its release in June 2023, “Diablo 4” has become one of the most successful titles in the series, impressing critics and players alike with its dark style, intense gameplay, and enormous content depth. The game currently costs 59.99 euros in the standard edition without a PS Plus subscription.
The King of Fighters XV (PS5, PS4)
Since its debut in 1994, the “KoF” fighting game series has captivated fans with iconic characters and a unique combat system. KoF XV retains the series’ signature 3-on-3 team battle system and features 39 fighters—a mix of classic figures, revived characters, and new fighters. The game is enhanced by a new combat system and rollback netcode, which minimizes delays in online battles. Additionally, various battle modes are available, allowing for individual play styles.
The game usually costs 39.99 euros in the Deluxe Edition. At the PlayStation Plus launch, players also receive the DLC costume “Classic Leona,” which adapts Leona’s outfit to her look from “KoF ’96.”
Jusant (PS5)
“Jusant” is a climbing game with action and puzzle elements, offering a meditative journey to the top of a tall tower. It allows players to explore different paths at their own pace. Those who explore alternative routes can also uncover the secrets of a past civilization. Keeping an eye on the stamina gauge is important to successfully navigate the ever-changing tower. With the PS Plus subscription, players save the 24.99 euros that “Jusant” normally costs.
