Even after more than two decades, “WoW” remains relevant, so it’s never too late to start anew. Playing the Right “World of Warcraft”

Our first beginner tip for “World of Warcraft” starts even before the actual gameplay. Over the years, the important distinction between the “Classic” and “Retail” versions of the online role-playing game has become clear within the fan community.

“Classic” was released in 2019 but aims to bring back the player experience of the original 2004 version. It is primarily focused on cooperation and communication with other players, is slower, and more challenging. Leveling takes longer, quests require more attentive reading, and skills must be trained first.

“Retail,” on the other hand, is the modern version that Blizzard Entertainment continuously updates. New content is added, the graphics are better, and there are many new abilities. The focus is less on the journey and more on the endgame with raids, dungeons, and competitive content. As a beginner tip for “World of Warcraft,” we recommend the “Classic” version because it is more relaxed, less complicated, and more adventurous. Ultimately, personal taste decides, and both are worth playing.

Hit the Keys–but the Right Ones

Set up your keyboard layout carefully—preferably right from the start and thoroughly. A good layout is characterized by the fact that the most important functions are easily and quickly accessible. This may seem obvious, but it is essential as a beginner tip for “World of Warcraft.”

Because if you ever want to play a different class, it’s helpful to have similar abilities always on the same keys. For example, always assign healing spells, defensive abilities, or rescue actions to the same keys. This makes switching between game classes significantly easier.
