At the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Fritz! (formerly AVM) is presenting new solutions for home networks. The focus is on routers for 5G and fiber optics, powerful Wi-Fi 7 technology, and a new high-end repeater. The manufacturer also provides a preview of upcoming developments such as Wi-Fi 8 and enhanced failover protection.
New 5G and 4G Routers with Wi-Fi 7
From March 2 to 5, the Berlin-based manufacturer is showcasing current hardware for the digital home at the MWC. A key innovation is the Fritzbox 6835 5G. The compact router provides internet access via 5G and 4G and operates with Wi-Fi 7 in a 2×2 configuration on 5 and 2.4 gigahertz. According to the manufacturer, WLAN data rates of up to 3.5 gigabits per second are possible, with 2,880 megabits per second on 5 gigahertz and 688 megabits per second on 2.4 gigahertz. Via mobile networks, the device achieves up to 2 gigabits per second in download and 900 megabits per second in upload.
It supports 5G stand-alone and non-stand-alone as well as numerous 5G and LTE bands, including 4×4 MIMO and carrier aggregation. The box can be operated with either a Nano-SIM or eSIM. Power is supplied via USB-C, and for wired devices, there is a 2.5-gigabit and a 1-gigabit LAN port available. The 6835 5G is suitable both as a stationary solution in areas with weak broadband coverage and as a mobile internet hub. It can also serve as a failover for DSL, cable, or fiber optic connections and represents an advancement of the Fritzbox 6860 5G.
Also new is the Fritzbox 6825 4G. It offers Wi-Fi 6 and achieves up to 300 megabits per second in download. This model is also powered via USB-C and can be used as a backup solution.

Fiber Optic Routers for High Data Rates
For fiber optic connections, Fritz! is showcasing the Fritzbox 5630 XGS and Fritzbox 5630 models. The Fritzbox 5630 XGS supports the XGS-PON standard, enabling data rates of up to 10 gigabits per second. The Fritzbox 5630 covers GPON with up to 2.5 gigabits per second and AON with up to 1 gigabit per second.
Both routers are equipped with Wi-Fi 7 in a 2×2 configuration and achieve up to 3.5 gigabits per second. They also feature three gigabit LAN ports, USB 3.0 for storage or printers, telephony via DECT, IP telephony, and analog connection, as well as smart home functions via DECT ULE. The Fritzbox 5630 XGS additionally has a 10-gigabit WAN port, while the Fritzbox 5630 offers a 2.5-gigabit WAN/LAN port.
New Repeater with Up to 18 Gigabits per Second
With the Fritz!Repeater 6700 Pro, the manufacturer introduces the successor to the Fritz!Repeater 6000. The quad-band repeater operates with Wi-Fi 7 on 6 gigahertz (2×2), twice on 5 gigahertz (each 4×4), and 2.4 gigahertz (2×2). According to the manufacturer, up to 18 gigabits per second are possible. Features include a 10-gigabit and a 2.5-gigabit LAN port. Integration is done via WPS, and the WLAN name and password are automatically adopted from Fritz!OS 8.20.
For PCs and notebooks, Fritz! also presents the Fritz!WLAN Stick 6700. The USB adapter supports tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with up to 2.88 gigabits per second on 5 and 6 gigahertz and is designed for Windows 10 and 11.
Additionally, Fritz! provides a preview of Wi-Fi 8, which promises higher stability, lower latencies, better performance in challenging residential areas, and reduced energy consumption. Future Fritz!OS versions are also expected to offer enhanced failover protection by allowing mobile Fritzboxes to automatically operate as a backup behind a fiber optic modem.
