With the Fritzbox 7632, Fritz! introduces a new DSL router that aims to combine high speeds with flexible usage options. The model supports modern DSL technologies up to G.fast with gigabit speeds and remains usable even when switching to fiber optics later. Additionally, the manufacturer focuses on current Wi-Fi, comprehensive security features, and smart home support.
Following the presentation of a new fiber optic entry model, Fritz! is launching the next router with the Fritzbox 7632. The device is designed for all common DSL connections and, according to the manufacturer, achieves data rates of up to 300 megabits per second via Supervectoring 35b. On G.fast connections, which are often used when fiber reaches the building and the last meters run over copper, speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second are possible.
This makes the Fritzbox 7632 suitable for applications such as high-resolution streaming, online gaming, or data-intensive work in the home office. At the same time, the router remains usable for a later switch to fiber optics, as it can be easily operated behind a fiber modem, known as an ONT.
Wi-Fi 7 and Extensive Network Features
For Wi-Fi, Fritz! relies on the new Wi-Fi 7 standard. The Fritzbox 7632 operates on the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz frequency bands and supports theoretical data rates of up to around 3,500 megabits per second. Wi-Fi features include multi-link operation for more stable connections, WPA3 encryption, and secure guest access. The wireless network can be turned on and off via a button on the device, through schedules, or remotely.
Mesh functions are also integrated to evenly distribute Wi-Fi throughout the home. For wired devices, there is a 2.5-gigabit port that can be used as WAN or LAN, as well as three gigabit LAN ports. Additionally, a USB 3.0 port is available, for example, for storage solutions or mobile broadband sticks.

Smart Home, Telephony, and Security
The Fritzbox 7632 features an integrated DECT base and can be used as a smart home hub. It supports compatible DECT-ULE devices such as heating controls or switchable sockets. Furthermore, the router offers functions like media server, NAS services, and a full-fledged telephone system for internet and analog telephony.
In terms of security, Fritz! relies on a stateful packet inspection firewall, a security assistant with diagnostic functions, automatic updates, and full IPv6 support. This is complemented by extensive parental controls with time budgets, access restrictions, and secure remote access via VPN.
The Fritzbox 7632 is available now. The suggested retail price is 269 euros.
