The group stage of the 2023/24 Champions League is over, and the round of 16 is coming up! TECHBOOK reveals where you can live stream the matches.
Thirty-two teams, six matchdays, and hopefully an exciting final–the group stage of the Champions League began on September 19. Of the four German teams, three have made it to the round of 16: FC Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund. Union Berlin exited European competition as the last in its group. The remaining teams will fight in the knockout stage to advance. But which round of 16 matches of the Champions League will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video? There’s plenty in store for German fans.
Stream Champions League for a Fee
First, the bad news: Streaming CL games for free is not possible. The only exception is the final, which will be held on June 1, 2024, at Wembley Stadium in London. ZDF will stream the highlight of the Champions League for free at 9 p.m. German time.
The rights for all other games are shared by Amazon Prime Video and DAZN. The majority of matches, namely 121 of the 137 games, are streamed by the paid sports streaming provider DAZN. To watch the games here, you need an Unlimited subscription, which costs 44.99 euros per month or 29.99 euros per month with an annual subscription.

German Matches on Amazon Prime Video
There is good news for German soccer fans and Amazon Prime Video customers. Three matches involving German teams will be shown on Amazon Prime Video. These are the following matches:
- RB Leipzig vs. Real Madrid (Tuesday, February 13, 2024, 9 p.m.)
- PSV Eindhoven vs. Borussia Dortmund (Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 9 p.m.)
- FC Bayern Munich vs. Lazio Rome (Tuesday, March 5, 2024, 9 p.m.)
Amazon Prime Video will show another match on March 12, but the streaming service has not yet announced which game it will be. Prime Video can choose between FC Arsenal vs. FC Porto or SSC Napoli vs. FC Barcelona, both starting at 9 p.m.
That Amazon Prime Video is showing the German games is, of course, a coincidence. If no German team had advanced beyond the group stage, Amazon would have had to switch to other games. The fact that the three teams have advanced is, of course, a stroke of luck for Amazon Prime customers.
Match Dates
The streaming service DAZN will show the remaining round of 16 matches of the Champions League. In addition to the four matches mentioned above, Amazon Prime Video will stream four more games during the Champions League season: two quarterfinal games (one first leg and one second leg) and two semifinal games (one first leg and one second leg), all of which are, of course, still to be determined.
Below are all the dates for the knockout stage:
- Round of 16: February 13/14/20/21 and March 5/6/12/13, 2024
- Quarterfinals: April 9/10 and 16/17, 2024
- Semifinals: April 30/May 1 and May 7/8, 2024
- Final: June 1, 2024
Those primarily interested in the highlights of the games can stream them on ZDF or watch the detailed summary of the matchday on Wednesdays from 11 p.m.
