RTL Takes Over Sky: What Customers Need to Know
Wow Content on Amazon Prime Video
With the integration, Sky aims to make Wow’s entertainment offerings accessible to a broader audience. The portfolio includes current blockbusters shortly after their theatrical release, such as “Wicked” or “Gladiator II,” as well as award-winning series like “The Rookie,” “House of the Dragon,” or “The Day of the Jackal.”
New content is also available, set to launch later this year or in 2026. This includes series like “Amadeus,” “Ponies” featuring Emilia Clarke, or the thriller “The Copenhagen Test.” In addition to these new releases, the offerings include exclusive documentaries, reality formats, and Sky Originals.
Since 2021, the Wow app has been available on Fire TV devices. The recent expansion to additional channels on Prime Video marks another step in the strategic cooperation between the two companies.

RTL+ Also Brings Offerings to Amazon
In addition to expanding Sky’s offerings on Prime Video, RTL Deutschland is following suit. The in-house streaming service RTL+ is now also available as an additional channel. For 12.99 euros per month, Amazon users can book the service directly through the Prime Video app. According to Henning Nieslony, Chief Streaming Officer RTL Deutschland, this is an important step in reaching new target groups and enhancing the visibility of the content.
The expansion complements the existing RTL offerings on Prime Video, which previously included mainly pay-TV channels like RTL Crime, RTL Living, and GEO Television. The development is partly driven by the decline in advertising revenue in traditional television, with an expected decrease of seven percent in 2025.
