Spotify will soon offer concert tickets specifically to its most loyal fans. The streaming service has announced a new feature called “Reserved.” This will allow users to purchase tickets for certain tours before they go on sale to the general public. The aim is apparently to give an advantage to fans who have been actively following artists for a long time.
Previously, super-fans trying to buy tickets for popular concerts often had no advantage. All interested parties frequently ended up in digital queues at the same time. Many events sold out shortly after sales began, while tickets later appeared on other platforms at higher prices.
How “Reserved” Works at Spotify
Through “Reserved,” selected users can purchase up to two tickets before the general sale begins. According to Spotify, the key factor is how closely users are connected with artists on the platform. Those eligible for the offer will be notified via email and directly in the app.
After notification, there is a window of about 24 hours to purchase the reserved tickets. However, the tickets are not sold directly through Spotify. Instead, the purchase is made through ticket partners, where fans can then select concert dates, venues, and seats.
According to Spotify, the availability of seats depends on the specific tour and demand. Regional restrictions may also apply. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that every invited person will find suitable tickets for every event.

Spotify Aims to Limit Bots and Resale
Spotify also explains that “Reserved” is not intended to be exploited by bots or resellers. The company plans to evaluate various activities on the platform, including streams, shared content, and other usage data.

Additionally, it will be checked whether real people are behind the accounts. However, Spotify does not reveal the details of the selection process. The company only clarifies that frequent music listening alone is probably not enough. Instead, fans who actively follow artists over a longer period are to be considered.
Launch Initially Only in the U.S.
The new feature is set to launch in summer 2026 alongside newly announced tours of selected artists. Initially, “Reserved” will be available exclusively to premium subscribers aged 18 and over in the U.S.
Later, Spotify plans to gradually expand the offer to other markets. Whether Germany will be included is still uncertain. However, there are indications from partner companies. Spotify lists Eventim, Eventbrite, and Ticketmaster among its partners, which are also active in Germany.
