Until now, the website JustWatch primarily helped users find movies and series on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other providers. With JustWatch TV, the platform is now becoming a streaming service itself, significantly expanding its previous business model.
From Streaming Guide to Provider
JustWatch TV is directly integrated into the company’s existing website and apps. At launch, the service is partnering with 30 content providers, including Paramount, Leonine Studios, New Regency, Fremantle, and Cineverse.
Users can choose from three options. “JustWatch TV Free” offers a selection of movies and series for free with ads. The “JustWatch TV Store” allows users to rent current and popular movies. Those who opt for “JustWatch TV Plus” get ad-free access to numerous titles and additional features within the streaming guide and app.

JustWatch Relies on Its User Data
When selecting content, JustWatch has an advantage over new streaming providers: The company knows its users’ interests through its established streaming guide. According to the company, around 50 million people worldwide use the platform to find movies and series.
To build its own catalog, JustWatch analyzes billions of data points on what content users want to see. This is intended to create an offering that complements existing streaming services. Additionally, JustWatch aims to help discover interesting movies and series with editorial recommendations.
Germany Is Among the Launch Markets
JustWatch TV is initially launching in 11 countries. In addition to Germany and Austria, these include the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. More content partners and additional titles are expected to follow.
For JustWatch, its own streaming service is a significant step. Until now, the platform primarily directed users to other providers’ offerings. In the future, they can watch selected content directly on JustWatch. Company founder David Croyé describes JustWatch TV as the most important new development in the company’s 12-year history.
