“The Big Bang Theory” may have ended in 2019, but its nerdy stories still have many fans. This is proven by the spin-offs that have emerged since then, such as “Young Sheldon” or “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Now, “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe,” the third spin-off, is set to launch, promising to delight fans this coming summer.
New “Big Bang Theory” Spin-off Starting in July
As the U.S. industry magazine “Variety” now reports, there is a specific release timeframe. The sitcom is set to premiere on HBO Max in July. As a Warner production, this will likely be the exclusive streaming home for the series.
Whether this will apply to the German market as well is not yet known. However, it is at least expected that the local release will occur either at the same time or shortly thereafter.
Familiar Names in Front of and Behind the Camera
As the title already reveals, “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe” centers on Stuart, the beloved comic store owner from “The Big Bang Theory.” Kevin Sussman returns to the role, supported by other familiar faces like Lauren Lapkus as his girlfriend Denise, John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke, and Brian Posehn as Bert.
Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the creators of “The Big Bang Theory,” are back as producers. Zak Penn (“Avengers,” “Ready Player One”) contributes scripts. New to the team is composer Danny Elfman, who once wrote the legendary “The Simpsons” theme and is also writing the theme music for “Stuart Fails To Save The Universe.”

What’s it about? Stuart accidentally destroys a device developed by Leonard and Sheldon. This mishap triggers a multidimensional chaos that he must manage with Denise, Barry, and Bert. On their adventures, they also encounter alternative versions of familiar characters from the main series.
