After a well-deserved rest day for the athletes of the 2026 Tour de France, the race continues this Tuesday. On the French national holiday, participants must cycle through a challenging mountain landscape, conquering several thousand meters of elevation. TECHBOOK reveals where to watch the race event.
Challenging Mountain Stage at the 2026 Tour de France
The route from Aurillac to Le Lioran covers 166.6 kilometers and approximately 3,800 meters of elevation gain. This presents the riders with a demanding stage through the volcanic landscape of the French Massif Central.
Especially in the final section, several climbs follow one another in quick succession. The Pas de Peyrol (Puy Mary), Col de Pertus, and Col de Font de Cère are three notable mountain classifications on the agenda. Significant time gaps could emerge between the favorites here.

Duel at the Top and Lipowitz in Focus
Tadej Pogačar enters the tenth stage as the dominant rider. Nonetheless, Jonas Vingegaard remains one of the key challengers. The Dane has fond memories of Le Lioran, where he achieved a stage victory against the Slovenian during the 2024 Tour.
From a German perspective, attention is also on Florian Lipowitz. He is currently fighting for third place in the overall standings and aims to maintain his strong position on the mountain stage.

The tenth stage begins on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. Eurosport will broadcast the race in its entirety until approximately 6 p.m. ARD will join the live coverage at 2:05 p.m. as part of the Sportschau.
Additionally, a free livestream is available on Sportschau.de and in the ARD Mediathek. Those who wish to follow the stage on the go can also use the live audio stream in the Sportschau app.
