If you’re unsure what to stream, you can look to the charts for inspiration. What’s trending? What are fans interested in? According to the current bestsellers, the choice seems clear: “Thrash” is the way to go.
“Thrash” Sinks Its Teeth Into Netflix Charts
That’s according to new figures from Flixpatrol, which tracks how well streaming series and films are performing. Looking at the results for “Thrash,” the situation is clear. Immediately after its release on April 10, 2026, the title shot to the top of the charts.
And that’s in several countries, including Germany. The previous peak was reached on April 12, when “Thrash” was number 1 in the Netflix charts in 91 markets. Currently, it’s “only” 90 countries. An impressive start for the streaming service. But is it worth the stream?

New Series Surprisingly Storms the Charts — This Is What Makes It So Unique
Sharks Invade Coastal Town
“Thrash” is a new shark horror film. When a storm overwhelms a coastal town with water, it also brings hungry sharks into the streets. While people are trapped in the floods, the deadly fish hunt for fresh meat.
The premise sounds simple, straightforward, and exciting. And with toothy sharks swimming around? No wonder many are tuning in, which at least explains the high chart positions. However, word of mouth could soon cause “Thrash” to drop off.
Toothless Shark-Light
On Rotten Tomatoes, there’s rare agreement between critics and fans—almost everyone finds the film equally bad. Only a weak 39 percent of professional reviews were positive. Among users, the verdict is even harsher, with a dismal 28 percent. On Letterboxd, it averages only 2 out of 5 stars (as of April 14). The sentiment is similar here. For instance, a review on “Filmstarts” describes “Thrash” as simply “wildly unexciting.”
So if you don’t want to waste your precious time on trash, it’s better to find something else. Or just watch “Jaws” again. How long “Thrash” will dominate the Netflix charts remains highly questionable.
