Who will be heading to Hogwarts next? The three lead actors for the upcoming “Harry Potter” series have now been announced.
It’s time for the next generation of wizarding students at the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. HBO is currently developing a “Harry Potter” series that is slowly but surely taking shape. After the initial cast announcements, Warner has now revealed the highly anticipated news for the “Harry Potter” series—the new trio of actors for the roles of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. An initial image of the future stars is already available.
“Harry Potter” Series Has Its Stars
The important personnel announcement comes from an official press release from the producing studio. According to it, the cast of the “Harry Potter” series has grown to include newcomers Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley).

In a joint statement, showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod said that tens of thousands of children auditioned for the roles, and they can hardly wait to see the three young actors on screen, as their talent is “unique.”

First Casting Rumors for the New “Harry Potter” Series Cause a Stir

“The Casting of Snape Fundamentally Changes the Story of ‘Harry Potter.'”
“Harry Potter” Series Already Facing Controversy
As was the case with the films, the newcomers are still relatively unknown. That is likely to change quickly, as the “Harry Potter” franchise is enormously popular worldwide. It can already be assumed that interest in the series will be immense, which could rapidly turn McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout into global stars—just as it did for Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
Previously, Warner confirmed additional stars for well-known roles, such as Dumbledore or Hagrid. However, not every casting choice for the “Harry Potter” series is well-received. In particular, the new Snape fundamentally changes the storyline, according to TECHBOOK author Louisa Stoeffler. This could leave a rather bitter aftertaste. Additionally, J.K. Rowling, the author of the original books, is on board as an executive producer. Given that Rowling has recently faced public criticism, many view her involvement in the series critically.
