Just completed your Amazon order, only to realize you forgot a product? Frustrating—until now, that meant placing a new order. But that could soon be a thing of the past: Amazon is introducing a feature that allows Prime members to add items directly to already scheduled deliveries—without a new order process.
How “Add to Delivery” Works
An additional blue button labeled “Add to Delivery” appears on the product page. Tapping this button automatically adds the item to the next upcoming Prime delivery. If needed, this step can be immediately undone with an “Undo” button available right after adding.
This change aims to make it easier for users to make spontaneous additions to their delivery, whether it’s household items, snacks, or other small things. The best part: there are no additional shipping costs, and no new order needs to be created.
Currently, “Add to Delivery” is available exclusively for Prime members in the U.S. and is only accessible in the app or on the mobile Amazon website. So far, this feature is only available for selected products.
Significance and Outlook
With “Add to Delivery,” Amazon is responding to the reality of many shoppers who want to add items spontaneously without going through the entire order process again. This step can make using Prime even more convenient and encourage smaller purchases that might otherwise be delayed or forgotten.
When and if Amazon will expand this feature beyond the U.S. to other markets is still open. For German shoppers, this could bring a welcome convenience advantage.
