The promotion runs during the vacation season and involves the VPN tool integrated into Firefox. Until the end of August 2026, the previous data usage limit is lifted. Users can use the feature without limits and route their browser traffic through the service.

What Users Should Note
Despite the expanded usage options, Mozilla points out several limitations. The Firefox VPN works exclusively as a browser extension. It obscures traffic within the browser but does not protect the entire device’s data traffic.

Additionally, it may happen that individual websites from abroad are not accessible when the VPN is activated. In such cases, the VPN function can be turned off. However, Mozilla points out that this may have disadvantages regarding the protection of sensitive data.
Protection Only Applies to the Browser
Those who want to prevent private communication or banking data from being intercepted should consider this limitation. For protection in public networks or while traveling, the article mentions established VPN services as an alternative. These cover the entire data traffic of a device and are not limited to the browser.
