On mietsofort.de, users can search for apartments, houses, and rooms. The site also offers features related to apartment applications. This service is particularly aimed at people who want to handle their apartment search and related applications online. What is not sufficiently clear to users, according to the Consumer Center, are the costs associated with using the service.
MietSofort charges a one-time fee of 79 euros
The service is offered by Subscription Cancel LTD from Varna, Bulgaria. According to the terms and conditions, a one-time fee of 79 euros is due for use. This fee must be paid regardless of whether the apartment search is successful. The fee is not tied to a successful placement or the signing of a rental contract.
The Consumer Center views the contract critically. Costs and services must be clearly identifiable before an order is placed. However, they are only listed in the general terms and conditions. As a result, users may only realize later that a payment is required when the service is activated. The previous button “Activate Access” has also been criticized. It has now been changed to “Order with Costs.”

What to do if you receive a bill from MietSofort?
If you have already received a demand, the Consumer Center advises against paying it hastily. Instead, it is recommended to carefully review the demand and keep any existing documents. Affected individuals can provisionally revoke the contract. The Consumer Center provides a suitable template letter free of charge.
Users should keep emails, invoices, and reminders. This way, important documents and previous correspondence are documented. In the case of a payment order, it is also important to adhere to the specified deadlines so that affected individuals can respond to the notice in a timely manner.
