WhatsApp May Soon Allow Three Accounts in One App

Those who use WhatsApp for both personal and professional purposes often have to manage messages across different phone numbers. Since early June 2026, the messenger app on iPhone has supported two accounts within the same app. This allows users to separate personal and professional chats without switching between multiple devices. Now, the next stage of development is on the horizon. WhatsApp is apparently working on a way to use three accounts simultaneously in one app. This would not require WhatsApp Business or an additional smartphone.

Beta Version Already Shows the New Account Selection

Information about the new feature comes from “WABetaInfo.” The portal discovered it in the iOS beta version 26.37.10.15. It already shows how managing three accounts might look.

In the account overview, profiles are displayed with names, profile pictures, and phone numbers. Additionally, a green checkmark indicates the currently active account. Users could directly see which profile is being used.

Even with three accounts, the content is expected to remain clearly separated. Chats, notifications, privacy settings, backups, and saved media will each be assigned to the corresponding account.

Furthermore, incoming messages will indicate which profile they belong to. According to WABetaInfo, the app lock will also continue to apply separately to each account. This keeps the individual accounts separate and allows them to be managed independently.

Setup Expected to Remain Largely Unchanged

WhatsApp apparently does not plan major changes to the setup process. The company is currently following the existing procedure for additional accounts. The “Add Account” button will still be available even if two phone numbers are already set up. This would allow a third phone number to be added. In the account overview, all accounts stored on the device will be displayed together.
