In this series, TECHBOOK presents the best iPhone hacks and tricks–with video and detailed instructions.
The iPhone has undergone a long development history since its launch in 2007. Over the years, Apple has continually expanded the iOS operating system, often adding small and large, sometimes well-hidden features. In the “iPhone Hacks” series, TECHBOOK showcases the best and most practical of these features.
In Part 1, you’ll learn how to take a photo using a voice command.
How It Works
1. Open the iPhone Settings
2. Go to Accessibility and tap on Voice Control
3. Enable the Voice Control slider
4. Tap on Customize Commands and then on Create New Command
5. Choose Create New Command and enter a name for the command (a precise name is recommended, as it will also be the voice command itself)
6. Tap on Action and then Run Custom Gesture
7. Tap in the blank field where the camera shutter would normally be (it’s best to mark the spots beforehand with a piece of tape)
8. Confirm the passcode pattern with Save
9. Open the camera or instruct Siri to do it for you
10. Say your voice command–the iPhone will now take a photo automatically
