In this series, TECHBOOK presents the best Android hacks and tricks–complete with video and detailed instructions.

The Android operating system, developed by Google, is the most widely used in the world. Seventy percent of all smartphones today run on Android. The OS has now reached its eleventh generation, and with each new generation, it has introduced new features–some of which are quite well hidden. In the “Android Hacks” series, TECHBOOK showcases the best and most practical of these features.

In Part 7, we show you how to operate Google Maps with just one finger.

How it works

1. Open Google Maps.

2. Search for a place or destination.

3. Now double-tap on the screen and hold after the second tap.

4. You can now move your finger back and forth without lifting it to zoom in and out on the map.
