A widely used MagSafe power bank is being recalled. The battery can overheat during charging and, in the worst case, cause a fire.
The Dutch company Ploonk B.V. is recalling the “Imoshion MagSafe Powerbank 10,000 mAh (wireless)” with the model number IM-PB-0007. According to the company, there is a risk of overheating in certain devices, which can lead to a fire.
Particularly problematic, according to the recall notice, is that overheating can occur during the charging process without any prior damage or other noticeable issues with the device. The power bank was sold between July 2024 and June 2026 and was also available in Germany. Distribution partners included MediaMarkt, Kaufland, and various online retailers.
These Batch Numbers Are on the Recall List
Whether a power bank is affected can be checked using the batch number on the back. The recall applies exclusively to the numbers 2024-06-0004 and 2024-09-0007. Users of other batches are not affected by the measure according to the current status.
The color of the device does not provide a reliable indication. The model was offered in several color variants, including white, black, blue, purple, and pink, as well as special colors Apricot Crush Orange, Hot Pink, Cobalt Blue, and Petrol Green. Additionally, the recall notice lists nine affected EAN numbers. Anyone with a power bank with the mentioned batch numbers should not continue to use it.

Ploonk B.V. has set up a customer service for inquiries. It is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the phone number +31 33 433 20 11. Since this is a Dutch phone number, additional costs for an international call may apply.
Alternatively, the company answers inquiries via email at info@smartphonehoesjes.nl. Owners of an affected power bank should contact customer service and refrain from using the device until the issue is resolved.
