Bose on a smartphone–sounds like a cinematic experience for the ears. But how much is really behind the high-profile audio collaboration? With the new Poco F8 models, Xiaomi is taking the next step in partnering with a traditional brand, promising better sound directly from the device. Whether the result is more than just a well-placed brand name and how the F8 series performs in everyday use is revealed in the test.
Brand collaborations are currently very popular. Well-known names such as Bang & Olufsen and Leica can be found on devices from manufacturers like TCL and Xiaomi. Bose is also part of this trend, enhancing the sound quality of current smartphones. Particularly, Xiaomi’s Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra models rely on the expertise of the audio manufacturer.
Technical Details of the Speakers
The Poco F8 Ultra has already impressed in the lab test by colleagues at COMPUTER BILD and also stands out in the sound check. It features a 2.1 speaker system with a subwoofer and, according to the manufacturer, uses “Triple Speakers: Symmetric Dual Speakers + Subwoofer.” The test shows that the sound is powerful and balanced for a smartphone, even though the physical limits of a mobile device are noticeable. Mids and highs sound clear, but the subwoofer is mainly visually noticeable and hardly audible.
The Poco F8 Pro (tested here) does without a subwoofer, which in practice makes little difference. The bass is rather weak in both models. Nevertheless, the sound surpasses many other smartphones, even if it cannot replace a Bluetooth speaker.

Overall Performance of the F8 Series
The Poco F8 series scores not only with its sound but also with powerful hardware. The F8 Ultra impresses with a fast processor and long battery life. The photo quality is also remarkable. The models show few weaknesses and are overall well-equipped.
Overall, the smartphones of the F8 series offer a successful combination of sound and performance. The collaboration with Bose contributes to a pleasing sound experience, even if it does not reach the quality of external speakers.
